The Louisville Cardinals are having an eye-popping 2027 recruiting class, with 18 commitments and a strong chance of having the best recruiting class in program history. Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are turning heads nationwide with their recruiting efforts, hosting 27 recruits over the last two weekends and landing four recruits in June, including three this week. 247Sports recently updated its player recruiting rankings in the 2027 recruiting class, and Cardinals fans saw three players soar in the rankings, including recent commitment AJ Tillman Jr. and 4-star Louisville native Ja'Hyde Brown. Louisville has six 4-star commitments, and after the 247Sports update, three of those recruits are ranked in the top 200. Before the 247Sports update, the Cards had just one recruit in the top 200, as 4-star cornerback Allen Evans was the only commitment in the top 200. However, after the recent update, Brown and Tillman are now ranked inside the top 200, joining Evans. Brown was once an Indiana commitment, but decommitted from the Hoosiers and committed to Louisville over the Kentucky Wildcats. He was once ranked as high as No. 292 in the 2027 cycle, No. 49 among wide receivers and No. 5 among Kentucky natives, but after this update, he is now ranked as high as No. 196 overall, No. 30 among wide receivers and is now the No. 3 ranked recruit out of Kentucky. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound wide receiver is coming off a dominant junior year with the Christian Academy of Louisville, as he earned 98 catches for 1,556 yards and 24 touchdowns. Also, jumping up in the 247Sports rankings is one of Louisville's recent commitments, AJ Tillman Jr. The 4-star running back is now the second-highest commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, as he jumped up 230 spots and now ranks as high as No. 128 overall in the 2027 recruiting class. When Tillman committed to Louisville, he was ranked as high as No. 226 overall by ESPN and No. 358 by 247Sports, but now, after this update, 247Sports has him ranked No. 128 in the 2027 cycle, the No. 8 ATH, and No. 9 among Georgia recruits. The 4-star recruit earned over 30 offers from major programs like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Miami, UNC, Ole Miss, and others, and committed to Louisville after his recent visit to the Cardinals on May 29. Tillman earned 1,502 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns while also earning 19 catches for 195 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in the past two seasons. He also played defense, recording 42 tackles, 8 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions. The Cardinals' 2027 recruiting class ranks No. 22 in the nation, which puts them on pace to potentially have the best recruiting class in program history. Louisville has had only two recruiting classes ranked in the top 25, with the 2006 class the best in program history, ranking No. 24 nationally.
