The Louisville Cardinals have made a significant addition to their 2027 recruiting class by securing the commitment of offensive lineman Kyson Mallard. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound prospect from Westover High School in Albany, Georgia, visited Louisville at the end of May and chose the Cardinals over offers from Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. Mallard, who also considered NC State, Mississippi State, and North Carolina, is ranked as the No. 752 overall prospect in the nation according to Rivals’ Industry Rankings. His commitment marks a pivotal moment for head coach Jeff Brohm and his coaching staff as they continue to build a competitive roster. Mallard expressed a strong connection with the coaching staff, highlighting his relationship with Coach Brohm and offensive line coach Dale Williams. He aims to enhance his skills in preparation for a standout senior season, having played both guard and tackle for his high school team, which excelled in rushing offense. With Mallard's commitment, the Louisville Cardinals' recruiting class now includes 18 members, ranking among the top 25 nationally and top 5 in the ACC. This commitment is also notable as Mallard is the first offensive lineman to join the class, which features several blue-chip recruits from the region.
