Louisville Cardinals Lose 3-Star DL Commit Kaleb Exume to Boston College

The Louisville Cardinals faced a setback in their 2027 recruiting class as 3-star defensive lineman Kaleb Exume announced his decommitment on Sunday. Exume, who originally committed to the Cardinals on April 19, has now pledged his future to Boston College. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 315 pounds, Exume showcased his skills at Parrish Community, where he excelled as both a run-stopper and pass rusher, totaling 78 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 6.0 sacks during his junior season. His transfer to Cardinal Mooney in Florida has made headlines as he joins a competitive recruiting landscape. Despite this loss, the Louisville Cardinals' recruiting class remains strong, currently holding 17 verbal commitments and ranked in the top 25 nationally, fifth in the ACC. Exume's decision comes as the Cardinals have already secured commitments from four other defensive linemen, including Munir Lewis, Cornelius Tims, Jesiah Fields, and Sebastian Blue, all of whom are ranked in the top-750 nationally. With head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff hosting crucial official visits this month, the Louisville Cardinals will need to focus on filling remaining positions of need in their 2027 class.
