Louisville Cardinals Face Decommitment as 2027 Class Shifts

The Louisville Cardinals football program is facing challenges in their 2027 recruiting class as they recently experienced a decommitment from 3-star defensive tackle Kaleb Exume. Exume, who had been committed to the Cardinals since April 2026, decided to decommit after taking an official visit to Boston College. This news follows the earlier decommitment of 4-star quarterback Jack Sorgi, who flipped to Wisconsin earlier this year. Head coach Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals are now monitoring the situation closely as other commitments are also on flip watch. Exume, a Florida native, had an impressive junior season, recording 78 tackles and 6.0 sacks. His decision to explore options at Boston College raises concerns for Louisville fans about the stability of their current commitments. Alongside Exume, two other 3-star recruits, Brooklyn Maxey and Cornelius Tims III, also took visits to Kansas State and Mississippi State, respectively. As of now, the Louisville Cardinals have 17 commitments in their 2027 class, ranking 26th in the 247 Team Recruiting Rankings. The coaching staff is hopeful that Exume will be the only commitment to flip following this weekend's visits.
